Delete users

Blue Prism native users

Administrators can disable native users who no longer require access to the system. Disabled users do not show in the user list but can be made visible by right-clicking the Users root node and selecting Show All Users. Once a user has been deleted this cannot be undone.

To delete a native user:

  1. Navigate to System > Security > Users.
  2. Right-click a native user and select Delete user. You can also select the user and click Delete in the hamburger menu.
  3. Click Yes in the confirmation message.

Active Directory users

Active Directory users cannot be deleted by a Blue Prism administrator because their details are managed in Active Directory. Once a user has been deleted or disabled in Active Directory, they will be marked as deleted in Blue Prism and prevented from logging in. A Blue Prism administrator can use the Synchronize users with Active Directory option to manually refresh the user list so deleted Active Directory users no longer display.

If an Active Directory user account has been marked as deleted in Blue Prism, the account will be restored if it is reinstated in Active Directory, regardless of whether they are assigned Blue Prism roles or not. This occurs either when the administrator synchronizes the user list with Active Directory, the user logs into Blue Prism, or the user details are edited in Blue Prism.

Authentication Server users

Authentication Server native users assigned to a Blue Prism role cannot be deleted by a Blue Prism administrator because their details are managed in Authentication Server. Once a native user has been retired in Hub, the user will be marked as deleted in Blue Prism. A Blue Prism administrator can use the Synchronize users with Authentication Server option to manually refresh the user list so retired Authentication Server users no longer display.

Active Directory users created in Hub and then added to Blue Prism by assigning them to a Blue Prism role cannot be deleted by a Blue Prism administrator because their details are managed in Active Directory.
