Create a custom process template
You can use an existing
To create a custom process template:
- Prepare the process template in Blue Prism.
- Export process template from Blue Prism.
- Upload process template to Capture.
To use your custom process template:
You can remove or replace a custom process template in the Custom process template section of the Export settings.
Prepare the process template in Blue Prism
There must be a page named Work in the process template. When a BPRELEASE file is exported using the process template, the exported process overwrites the Work page.
Any notes added to the process information in the original process template Work page are retained when the Work page is overwritten.
Export process template from Blue Prism
To export a process from Blue Prism to be used as a process template:
- Open the process that is going to be used as the new process template.
- Click File > Export > Release > New Package.
- Select Create an adhoc package for this release.
- Check that there is only one process in the package and click Next.
- Enter a name for the package and click Next.
- Enter any notes about the package and click Next.
- Enter an export location, or click Browse to navigate to an export location. Click Next.
- Click Finish.
The package must only contain a single process.
The BPRELEASE file is ready to be uploaded to Capture.
Upload process template to Capture
To upload the process template to Capture and apply it to a new process:
- Navigate to the Custom process template section of the Export settings and click Choose a File.
- Browse to the exported BPRELEASE file on your computer and click Open.
The uploaded BPRELEASE file name is displayed in the Custom process template section of the Export settings. The uploaded file is used as a process template and is applied to exported BPRELEASE files for new Capture processes.
Record a new process in Capture
Record a new process by following the steps in Capture a new process.
Export BPRELEASE file
The template process is only applied to the BPRELEASE export file type.
Export the process by following the steps in Export a process.
Import BPRELEASE file to Blue Prism
To see the final result of your new process in the custom template process, import the BPRELEASE file to Blue Prism and open the process.
Import the process by following the steps in Import a BPRELEASE file into Blue Prism.
Remove or replace process template
To replace the process template with another BPRELEASE file, click Choose a file and select a new BPRELEASE file. When the new file displays, click Save and Close.
To remove a process template without replacing it, click Clear, then click Save and Close.
