Forms

A form is a part of the user interface of a web or desktop application that contains controls with which the user can interacts. Task mining detects form boundaries using interface redrawing or application switching. For example, in order to send a parcel, a user fills in different order pages: enters the recipient data, selects the desired delivery date, and enters payment data. After processing the log with the recorded user actions, the Task Mining application finds three forms.

After uploading logs to Process Intelligence, it is recommended to check forms to make sure that unnecessary information will not appear in task definitions.

Forms contain screenshots with associated user actions in the application. You may want to transfer some screenshots into a separate form that are not related to a certain task and then exclude them from a task definition. Also, a form can include screenshots that should be associated with a different task. The form editor allows users to search for certain or similar events and move them between different forms within one application.

Review forms

  1. Click View > Home to navigate to the project homepage.
  2. Click Form editor.

A list of the used applications and forms defined for them displays.

Hover over any task or application and click the edit icon to rename them if required.

  3. Select a form.

Screenshots illustrating certain user actions display.

Move forms

Some screenshots might need to be associated with others forms. To transfer them between forms:

  1. Select screenshots within one application.

You can only move screenshots between forms related to the same application.

  2. Click Find similar if you want Process Intelligence to find comparable screenshots automatically.
  3. Click Select similar to select all detected screenshots.

  4. Click Move selected screens to and choose an existing form or create a new form by clicking Create a new one.

All selected screenshots are transferred to this form.

Divide actions into several forms

While working with a single form, a user can perform actions associated with different tasks. To improve task definition, this form can be divided into several forms, each of which will refer to its own task. To do this:

  1. Select the screenshots that will be transferred to the new form.
  2. Click Move selected screens to.

The selected screenshots and associated actions will be moved from the initial form to the new one.

The new form can then be added to the task definition in the Task definition editor.
