Process Intelligence component

Area Description of change
Task Mining

The Task Mining functionality has been significantly expanded. Users can now easily switch between tasks in Task Mining projects. All views will correspond to the selected task.

Forms are now used to record and analyze user actions. A form is a set of subsequent user actions in an application, window, or web page. Forms are detected automatically and can be viewed and updated in the Form Editor, which improves the quality of task definition.

The Task Definition Editor enables users to manually set concurrent and parallel tasks to ensure maximum accuracy of future analysis. The following new capabilities are available:

  • Task Definition actions – Users can add new task definitions, drag and drop elements from an original sequence to a task, rename tasks, select form types, set cutting modes, and apply or cut logs.
  • Applications, forms, or action types can be set to ignored so they do not display once the logs have been cut.
  • Task steps are now visible at a control level. All tasks for a selected control are displayed which enables a more in-depth task configuration.
  • Tasks that contain a single form can be configured for further analysis.

A new Task View Schema provides a graphical representation of data with more task details, which enables better decision making when choosing automation candidates. The hierarchical log structure is visible as a graph from the Form Editor and Task Definition Editor.

The following new capabilities are available:

  • Multiple display settings such as percentages, task variation, and specific element details.
  • Forms, applications, and transitions can be excluded.
  • Ad-hoc pages and applications can be created and displayed in an ad-hoc section.
  • The order of pages and applications can be configured to be ignored or optional.
  • Pages and applications can be renamed, and comments can be added to each element in a schema.
  • Forms contained in a node can be displayed by double-clicking the node.
  • When expanding a node, the graph restructures and displays transitions between the controls of the chosen application and other applications used in the task analysis. From here, users can drill down to view the workflow steps and set up a link to a Process Analysis project.
Data management

Process Intelligence now allows processing of large data sets. Users can upload data files containing up to 100 million events into large projects.

Performance for large projects has been improved by adjusting internal algorithms to ensure faster handling of large projects. Breakdown by dimension histograms for Duration, Count, Count unique, and Time gap metrics on the Project Homepage is now supported in large projects.

The Big Data upload feature in the repository is no longer supported, the Large Data Mode should be used for projects instead.

The available data sources have been expanded to support Open Database Connectivity (ODBC). Users can upload data from various databases, such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle. The ODBC connector is available as an External Import Adapter in the Repository Data Sources configuration.

A date range can now be selected when uploading data via ServiceNow.

When creating a query, it is now possible to use two new operators: Equals Any of and Contains any of. These allow users to find timelines with attributes that correspond to the entered values according to the operators' logic. Multiple values separated by commas can be entered.

Repository

A specified to-do-list can now be applied to multiple selected tables in the repository tables.

Path analysis

Paths can now be sorted and arranged independently using Ascending and Descending filters.

Charts

Data in combination charts can now be sorted by ascending or descending on the x-axis.

Users can now configure the display of data points in the Data Threshold.

Authentication

The login panel has been improved to provide a more streamlined user experience.

Logs

Logs can now be deleted from a project via a selection dialog to free up memory and storage space.

Process schemas

Any event from a chosen automation candidate can now be selected as a milestone when creating process schemas.

Metrics

Users can now create a new Metric type to count distinct values of an attribute in SQL.

Projects

Users can now create copies of existing Process Analysis projects.

Task Mining projects cannot be cloned.

User accounts

All users' personal data will be deleted when the period for a suspended subscription has elapsed. A subscription becomes suspended when its validity expires, users will receive an email notification in advance. After a subscription has been suspended for 30 days, all data in the projects and repositories, as well as account and subscription records will be erased.

Licenses

Licenses are configured individually for each organization, and license plans are now visible in the administration area with the option to export them as a CSV file.

Support email address

Users can now set a custom email address for service mailings such as no-reply notifications, and change the support email address as required.

Recorder and Recording Service components

Area Description of change
Event recording

The following capabilities have been added for event recording:

  • Ability to record user actions in a Citrix Virtual Desktop Environment.
  • Ability to schedule the recording of user actions, for example, only during working hours.
User interface

Japanese is now supported as a user interface language and can be selected on the login page.

Usernames can now be displayed in the user interface.

Fixes and minor improvements

The following fixes and minor improvements have been made in this release:

Area Description of change
Fonts

Japanese fonts can now be included in the export of PDD and PDF files.

Process schemas

All events can now be selected as milestones in process schemas.

Alerts

Alert emails now contain all timelines added while configuring alerts.

Dashboards

An issue has been fixed where if data in the metrics had been changed when viewing a dashboard, the dashboard data had to be recalculated and was not always updated successfully. The dashboard visualization has been optimized so this issue no longer occurs.

Task mining

The complexity algorithms have been adjusted to increase the calculation accuracy.

The missing click actions from the Add-in button in Outlook have been fixed.

The Task Mining Recorder no longer records every key stroke.

An issue has been fixed where double mouse clicks in table cells were not always recorded.

Calendars

The interval calculation when a calendar is applied has been fixed.

File export

An error no longer occurs when exporting a PDD file in a Task Mining project via path analysis.

User management

Users with associated charts can now be removed from an account. Previously, an error occurred when an account owner attempted to remove a user with associated charts from the account.

An email address without password can no longer be used for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMPT) server configuration.

Projects

A connection between Task Mining and Process Analysis projects can now bet set from a Task View Schema. This links a control in a task with an event in a process, which enables a cross-analysis of two different projects to provide a more detailed representation of events.

Recording Service

If a local Recorder loses connection with the Recording Service, all unsent data is now processed once the connection has been restored.

Windows installer

Credentials are now accepted on the Service Setup screen of the Process Intelligence installation wizard for Windows.

Schema configuration

Schemas generated via path analysis are now rendering correctly.

Data management

The character limit on the connection string for data sources in the repository has been removed.
