Task Mining project

Once you have registered and logged into Blue Prism Process Intelligence, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a new project or open an existing project with Task Mining selected as the data source.

To select a data source, click Project > Details > Data sources and select Task Mining – Recording Service.

  2. Record the user's actions using the Recorder.

  3. Load the logs from the Recorder Service into Process Intelligence.

    To do this:

    1. Open the Recording Service page.
    2. Click the Logs tab.
    3. Select the desired logs and click Load to project.

A page will open where you will have to enter your Process Intelligence credentials (your e-mail address and password).

    4. In the list that opens, select the desired project and click Select.

See Data upload for alternative ways of uploading data.

See Data requirements for the requirements that your uploaded data must meet.

Once the data has been uploaded, an overview pageof the project will open, where you need to define the tasks.

  4. Define the tasks and specify their processing parameters.

    1. Open the Task Definition Editor by clicking Let's start in the Tasks pane of the overview page.
A window will open displaying the recorded events. To see additional information about an event and its associated screenshot, click the event in the list.

    2. Click Show suggestions in the top right corner of the window to automatically identify recurring tasks.
Process Intelligence will analyze the logs and identify recurring tasks, start and end events, and the number of similar tasks in the logs.
For instructions on how to identify tasks manually, see Task definition.

    3. Click Apply and cut logs in the top right corner of the Task Definition Editor. This will identify tasks in the logs.

After you specify the desired parameters for analyzing the logs, the logs will be cut and a page will open displaying an overview of the uploaded data, analysis results, and information about the tasks. See Project homepage for details.
