Data requirements

Task mining identifies time-consuming routine operations.

The standard way to upload data into Blue Prism Process Intelligence is to automatically upload data from the Recorder Service. For more information, see Data upload.

You can also upload data manually. The requirements for input data are described below.

Input data

To analyze tasks, Blue Prism Process Intelligence uses data recorded by the Recorder in real time as users interact with their computers. Logs created by the Recorder are structured in a certain way and include recorded user actions and their associated screenshots.

Data file requirements

When uploading logs manually, make sure to preserve their original structure. Prior to uploading logs, archive the Commands and Screenshots folders. By default, logs are saved to %appdata%\ABBYY\Recorder\Recorded.

If your collected data exceeds 2 GB, use the Deflate compression method. You will need to use archiving software that supports this method of compression. For example, you can use 7Zip or PeaZip instead of the standard Windows archiver. For detailed instructions on how to upload data manually, see Data upload.

If the total size of the resulting archives is greater than 10 GB, use the Process Intelligence Repository to pre-process your logs.
