Create a new database
Click Configure Connection on the Blue Prism login screen to open the Connection Configuration dialog. The required details will depend on the connection type selected but generally you will be asked to set a connection name and type, as well as a database server and name.
In the Connection Configuration dialog click Create Database. The Create a new database dialog displays.
Enable the Drop any existing database with the specified name option if you want to purge and recreate the database if it already exists.
Blue Prism will create a database with the name entered in the Connection Configuration dialog. If a database with the specified name already exists, you can either modify the existing database or you can purge (that is, permanently and thoroughly delete) the existing database and create a new database with the same name in its place (recommended).
Modifying an existing database may be useful if the database username under which Blue Prism runs does not have permission to purge and create databases. If a database with the specified name already exists, it is important to ensure that it is not in use by another application – this includes other instances of Blue Prism running on other runtime resources. If no database with the specified name already exists, selecting to purge and recreate the database will not have any effect.
Click OK to create the database. A confirmation message displays.
The login screen will depend on the authentication settings configured on the Security - Sign-on Settings screen. For more details, see
