Blue Prism® includes a number of third-party classes which are referenced by the platform and this topic records the items that are included and their respective licenses. Open source components will only be adopted on a permissive license basis and there are no copyleft licenses as part of our third-party arrangements.

There are a number of sections in this topic that differentiate the components that are used in the main product, trial version, and separate optional components that cater for particular scenarios.

This document contains the following sections:

Main product

External components

Optionally used components available for use with Blue Prism.

Authentication Gateway

Authentication Gateway is a web application that runs in Internet Information Services (IIS), which extends the user authentication capabilities of the Blue Prism platform by providing connectivity to external identity providers using OpenID Connect.

SAML 2.0 Extension

The SAML 2.0 extension is an optional component available to use with the Authentication Gateway component.

Browser Extension (Chrome)

The browser extension is available to allow Blue Prism to natively automate web browsers such as Chrome. The extension is optionally installed (or available from the browsers store). A capability to automate Internet Explorer is provided within Blue Prism that does not require this extension.

Data Gateways

Data Gateways provides a centralized method of pushing data out of Blue Prism for use in external systems for monitoring and reporting, long-term data storage, and to feed machine learning models. Data Gateways is based on the existing Logstash capability (detailed below) which is a separate source base and a separate component from the Blue Prism product.

Google Sheets (VBO)

A Visual Business Object (VBO) is available for use with Blue Prism that allows interaction with Google Sheets using the Google Sheets API.

Login Agent

The Login Agent is a separate component that logs into Windows without requiring physical user authentication. The code is heavily based on samples provided by Microsoft.

Microsoft provided examples were leveraged in the production of Login Agent and include sample code relating to interacting with the Windows Credential Provider.

MAPIEx

The Blue Prism MAPIEx library is based on an existing extended MAPI library, detailed below. Note that the following is transcribed from the help file distributed with the MAPIEx release. MAPIEx is a separate source base and a separate component from the Blue Prism product.

Microsoft Outlook Email (VBO)

A Visual Business Object (VBO) is available for use with Blue Prism that allows Microsoft Outlook to be easily automated.

Blue Prism Trial

When using the dedicated installers to install Blue Prism on-premise trial, some additional components are provided.
